GIBSON, Jr. Ezekiel Age 86, of Hamilton died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in Bradford Place. He was born in Mousie, Kentucky on May 7, 1927, the son of Ezekiel, Sr. and Ada (Conley) Gibson. He was a graduate of Pikeville Junior College, Union College and received a Masters Degree in Education from Miami University. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII. He married Darlene Justice on August 20, 1960 in Pikeville, Kentucky. Zeke was a teacher of English, Reading and History and an assistant principal at Wilson Junior High School in the Hamilton Public Schools, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton, and an avid fan of Kentucky basketball and horse racing. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; his daughter, Jane Gibson, Hamilton; his son, David R. (Cindy) Gibson, Murray, Kentucky; his brother, Carl (Rose) Gibson, Mousie, Kentucky; his sister, Jane Carol Szoke, Cleveland, Ohio and four grandchildren, whom he lovingly called the "Chipmunks", Lauren Gibson, Nathan Gibson, Graham Gibson and Hannah Gibson. Visitation will be Thursday evening May 1, 2014 at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd.. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 1501 Pyramid Hill Blvd. Burial will follow in Kentucky. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hamilton Community Foundation, 319 N. Third Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 for needy students.
