Kathryn E. Yokers

Kathryn E. Yokers of Hamilton passed away in her residence on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 11:30 p.m. She was born in Hamilton, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Leary) Yokers. Kathryn was a graduate of St. Peter’s Elementary School, Notre Dame High School and the College of Mount St. Joseph with a BA in Art and graduated studies at University of Cincinnati and Miami University. She was Regent of Hamilton Circle; International Catholic Alumnae and Governor of Ohio Chapter. She was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church; the Rosary Altar Society of the Parish; Notre Dame Tabernacle Society; Notre Dame High School Alumnae and the College of Mount St. Joseph Alumni and Retired Teachers Association of Butler County. She was a retired high school teacher of Latin and English at Seton High School in Cincinnati in the Hamilton City School District.

She is survived by one sister, Dorothy E. Yokers of Hamilton; a devoted sister-in-law, Rita (DeFazio) Yokers of Hamilton; two nieces, Mary Beth (Paul) Herbeck of Columbus, Ohio and Diane (Steven) Dumbauld of Cincinnati; two nephews, James (Pamela) Yokers of Castaic, California and Mark (Deborah) Yokers of Hamilton and fourteen great-nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward J. Yokers.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, today May 5, 2004,at 10:00 a.m. with Father Tim Bunch, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Brown Dawson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to the Staff of Vitas Hospice and especially to Dr. Harry Davin for their loving care and compassion.

The family requests memorials to Vitas Hospice or to St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church.
